Nowadays, you can choose coffee from a delightful spectrum of origins, varieties and roasting styles. Our focus is on Vietnam's Arabica and Robusta coffee and Vietnam's expansive coffee culture. But how can you know what to look for in cup of coffee, and how to choose which ones to buy? Join one of SaigonDan's live experiences direct from Vietnam's coffee farms for this 30 or 60 minute online Experience! You'll discover secrets to tasting and describing coffee just like the experts do, and experience Vietnam coffee culture at the same time.
Similar to wine or beer, coffee has specific characteristics that anyone can learn to identify, so this Experience is an equally exciting gift for those who love coffee or those who are coffee-curious. You’ll be working with the Voyager coffee kit that comes with your purchase of this Experience: it includes 6 hand-selected coffees from Vietnam, tasting forms, and a detailed flavor wheel. The coffees aren’t labeled with origin info or tasting notes, so you’re able to enjoy the sensory experience without distraction.
Our Vietnam coffee farmer will introduce you to the side-by-side cupping technique that pros use to evaluate brews, and lead you through steeping the coffees in your cups (no coffee maker required!). You’ll have time to identify and discuss specific aspects of a coffee’s aroma and flavor, like dark chocolate, blackberry and caramel. At the very end is the big reveal, when your SaigonDan farmer shares the origin and profile of each sample, and you find out how closely your own experience matches. You’ll leave this Experience appreciating coffee in a whole new way, with the know-how to confidently choose coffees that will make every Joyous sip more enjoyable than ever-and experience a virtual trip to direct Vietnam!!

What participants need at home
Kettle or pot to heat 50oz / 1.5L water, two spoons, two mugs.
A coffee brewer is not required, we'll brew in the sampling glasses.
A coffee grinder (only if selecting whole beans).

About your hosts
Can you ship internationally?
Yes! We can ship to about 50 countries around the world for your international participants. Additional shipping fees apply and includes customs and duties so that the recipient does not need to do anything.
Do you provide a Zoom link for the tasting?
Yes! We do.
We're also happy to use your Zoom or another meeting platform if needed.
How do you collect shipping addresses and other preferences?
We'll create and share a form for you to send to all participants. It typically takes 2 minutes to fill out.
Responses come to us directly and we will confirm the list with the organizer before shipping any kits out.
When do you need shipping addresses by?
We typically require all domestic addresses 14 days before the event, and international addresses 21 days before the event date.
Late additions and rush shipments are available on a case-by-case basis.
Will you share tracking information for kits?
Yes! We will share tracking information with each participant for their kit, and also a master list for all kits with the primary contact/organizer.
Our goal is to ship kits so that everyone receives it 3 to 4 days before the event, and not much earlier (so that the coffee is fresh). If you have a group of participants distributed across the country, we'll ship the faraway ones first (West Coast) and the closer ones (East Coast, Northeast) last.
How does invoicing work?
Once all addresses are submitted, we'll share a final list with the organizer for confirmation, and invoice via Stripe. The invoice is due in 1 business day and can be paid online via credit card or ACH.
Once the invoice is paid, we'll release the kits to our operations team for shipping.
What is your privacy policy re: PII (address information, email)?
We do not use your names and e-mails for any marketing purposes. We'll hold on to the address information for 30 days and then delete the files.
Google Drive's purge processes apply after 30 days.
