USE COFFEE CAPSULES

Capsule coffee is widely used in countries around the world, including Vietnam.

Coffee is pre-ground to a certain degree of fineness, then compressed into small plastic pellets. Saigondan's coffee capsules Finest Vietnamese Coffee  are suitable for Nespresso® machines.

  1. Pour water into the tank, install the tank in the correct position and turn on the on button. Make sure to use cold and clean water. This will reduce mineral buildup, allowing the machine to operate longer & better.
  2. Depending on the coffee machine, you will press a button to open the compartment. Then, place the coffee capsule in the correct position. The coffee capsules will easily slide into the compartment. Once it's inside, close the compartment.
  3. Depending on the strength/lightness you want in your cup of coffee, there are many levels for you to choose from. You just press the Start button and wait, the machine will automatically brew according to the pre-programmed time.
  4. Enjoy a cup of fragrant coffee as soon as the water stops flowing. Add milk or sugar if desired.

Coffee in single serve capsules has become very popular and is now offered in Vietnam too. Saigondan – Finest Vietnamese Coffee in capsules are compatible with all Nespresso ® system machines.

  1. Turn on the machine and fill the water tank. Make sure to use only clean water , if possible PH neutral . This will reduce the settings of minerals and your machine will work longer and better.
  2. Place the capsule into the capsule holder. Depending on capsule machine, you may need to press a button to open it. The capsule should easily slide into the pod holder , otherwise push it slightly with your finger . Once fixed , close the pod holder.
  3. Choose Espresso or Lungo. Hit the Start button . Once you start the machine, it will pressure hot water through the capsule and the coffee liquid will drop into your cup .
  4. Enjoy your Espresso or Lungo after the stream of water has stopped. Add some brown sugar or a sip of milk if you like.

FLAVOUR

This is truly a Specialty Robusta Coffee, bought directly from a model cooperative in the province of Kon Tum. The coffee cherries are processed and dried using the so-called honey process. Careful roasting in small quantities supports the full development of this this exquisite coffee. This coffee of SaigonDan is ideal to be prepared with the Latte or Cappuccino. You can also discover the surprising and pleasant differentiation of aromas in this coffee with a cup of Americano style or Cafe crème.

SENSORY

Originally, people allowed coffee to dry in the sun with their fruit intact until it was ready for milling. The other traditional process was the "wet process" to obtain mainly "Washed Arabica". Basically, it's fermenting and washing the coffee after a machine has removed the fruit and the pulp, and then drying the parchment. Over the past years a new process has emerged which is specifically beneficial for Robusta Coffee, the "Honey Process". It is a Hybrid between the drying and washing process. The honey coffee process is the hardest and most demanding coffee processing method. The processor or farmer has to start by pulping the coffee and then spreading it out for drying without any washing to leave part of the pulp. The processor spreads the coffee beans thinly on special drying beds and turns them after everyone hour for 10-15 days to gain the needed stability. Important is that the parchment is at any time protected from the rain and the greenhouse must be well ventilated. The entire drying process must be observed carefully. Any problem, in particular a hidden fermentation, can quickly lead to a complete loss of the entire batch and the corresponding financial consequences. Once the coffee parchment is completely dry, from the outside pulp till the nucleus of the coffee bean, the processors or farmers have to mill / hull the coffee to remove the last layers of the skin (dry pulp and parchment), which protect the inside coffee beans. The tasting report of our SaigonDan Adventure: A mild and sweet taste, somewhat reminiscent of caramel.
